MoU inked between UoP and PEDO: To strengthen “POLICY IMPLEMENTATION MECHANISM FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES AS PER THE HEC POLICY 2021”, University of Peshawar (UOP) and Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO) have agreed to formalize their cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on 10th November 2022. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the presence of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Idrees while University of Peshawar. Dr. Shakeel Ahmed, Chairman Department of Social Work, and Mr. Syed Faiq Sajjad Shah of the Department of Social Work were nominated as the focal persons for the MoU.

Khyber Medical University, Disability Resource Center (DRC),
Pak Ever Bright Development Organization (PEDO) signed an agreement with Khyber Medical University on the HEC policy for students with disabilities, here on Saturday. The MOU between PEDO and KMU will affirm that Students with disabilities are valuable members of society, and they will have an obligation to undertake all reasonable actions to enable Students with disabilities to avail themselves of the opportunities for University available to other students.The social inclusion through universal accessibility for PWDs will set forth the HEC’s minimum standards with respect to students with disabilities at KMU.

The memorandum of understanding (MOU) signed between the Pak Everbright Development Organization (PEDO) and Area Study Center University of Peshawar is an important step towards improving the accessibility and inclusivity of higher education for persons with disabilities in Pakistan. The HEC Policy for Students with Disabilities 2021 provides a framework for promoting equal access to education for persons with disabilities. By signing the MOU, PEDO and the Area Study Center, University of Peshawar are committing to working together to implement this policy and create a friendly environment that encourages and supports the full participation of students with disabilities in higher education.

The MOU records a mutual understanding, support, and cooperation in the area of the above-cited subject and the establishment of a platform for future collaboration.

Empowering students with disabilities through Inclusivity! In the area of education in KPK, IPS, and PEDO have accomplished one of the largest milestones and demonstrated its significant contribution to society. Director of IPS Mr. Bilal Afridi and Mr. Shahab Ud Din, CEO of Pak Everbright Development Organisation (PEDO), who has been with the disabled NGO for 20 years, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding. In order to give the disabled students skills and trainings. The two organizations have agreed on the specific terms and conditions and will work collaborately. A Business Incubation Centre (BIC) would be established at the IPS for this reason, giving disabled students the opportunity for employment.
